Assets and inspection tasks

Transmission corridors and towers
Distribution poles and conductors
Substation visual and thermal checks
Storm damage and emergency assessment

Start from the defect you need to see

Aircraft endurance matters, but inspection quality is determined by target size, working distance, sensor resolution, stabilization, thermal requirements and how evidence enters the maintenance workflow. The payload and output specification should drive the platform choice.

Asset type, defect class and required evidence
Working distance, zoom and thermal resolution
Corridor length, endurance and launch access
Data tagging, repeatability and maintenance handoff

Design an inspection workflow

01 · Define targets

List assets, likely defects, required working distance and evidence format.

02 · Select sensors

Match visible zoom, thermal imaging, laser ranging, stabilization and AI functions.

03 · Match the aircraft

Balance payload, endurance, weather resistance, corridor length and deployment access.

04 · Standardize outputs

Plan routes, capture rules, file naming, repeat inspections and maintenance handoff.

Power line inspection questions

Which payloads are commonly used for power line inspection?

Typical configurations combine stabilized visible-light zoom and thermal imaging. Laser ranging, low-light imaging or AI-assisted target functions may be added when the mission requires them.

Can one drone cover every inspection task?

Usually not. Corridor inspection, close tower inspection and substation thermal checks can require different endurance, maneuverability and payload characteristics.

What information is needed to configure a system?

Send the asset type, route length, target defects, working distance, required outputs, local weather, existing workflow and destination country.
